The Law Society of Kenya members will on Friday stage countrywide peaceful demonstrations to protest President William Ruto’s sentiments against the Judiciary.

The lawyers led by LSK President Eric Theuri will put on purple ribbons during the demos to signify their support for the Judiciary and the rule of law.

Hunter Biden pleads not guilty to federal tax charges

US President Joe Biden's son, Hunter, has pleaded not guilty to tax offences in a California federal court.

He was indicted last month on nine criminal counts, including failing to pay his taxes on time from 2016 to 2019, filing false tax returns in 2018 and tax evasion.

If convicted on these charges, Mr Biden could face up to 17 years in prison.

He is also facing federal charges over felony gun offences, to which he has already pleaded not guilty.

Tottenham complete £25m deal for Genoa defender 

Tottenham have signed Romania defender Radu Dragusin from Italian side Genoa for £25m.

Dragusin, 21, becomes the club's second signing of the January window after Germany forward Timo Werner joined on loan from RB Leipzig. 

The Romania international, who has 13 senior caps, started all 22 of Serie A side Genoa's matches this season.

Spurs defender Djed Spence has joined Genoa on loan for the rest of the season as part of the deal.
