Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has revealed why he uses his social media platforms to make vital communications.

Kuria mentioned that his many followers on social media platforms are the main reason why he uses the channels for communication.

Speaking on Wednesday night at Citizen’s JKL show, the CS mentioned his X platform (formerly Twitter) has at least 600,000 people who follow him.

“600,000 people who follow me deserve to know my position,” Kuria said.

“600,000 people who listen to me on that platform have been listening to me way before I was CS. Most of them if I don’t tweet tell me they want guidance, they want to know what is happening.”

Kuria was speaking after Senators from both Azimio and Kenya Kwanza on Wednesday called for his impeachment.

This was after the CS made remarks against the Senators over the impeachment of Governor Kawira Mwangaza.

The Senators led by Leader of Majority Aaron Cheruyiot and his counterpart Stewart Madzayo warned that Kuria had attempted to interfere with the impeachment hearing.

Senator Cheruyiot claimed the CS was an embarrassment to the Kenya Kwanza government and President William Ruto.

Homa Bay Senator Otieno Kajwang called on their counterparts at the National Assembly to bring the impeachment motion as it is the August House which is mandated to do so by law.

"I want to urge the members of the other house because they are the ones who have the responsibility of censoring and sending serious judicial notice of the conduct of this particular cabinet secretary," he said.

"One of the things that I asked myself is just how much embarrassment does the President have to endure?" Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna posed.

Sifuna called on the Senators to take action before, more embarrassment came their way.

On Tuesday night, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi had cautioned the CS over his comments on the proceedings in the Senate on the impeachment of Meru Governor.

As a result, he cautioned  Kuria against making any further comments on the impeachment, failure to which he will be summoned.

“I, therefore, caution Moses Kuria, Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management, and all other persons to desist from adversely making utterances whether written or spoken with the conduct of the impeachment process which may prejudice the just and fair disposal of the present matter,” Kingi noted.

On his X page, CS Moses Kuria had earlier said that the issues presented against Meru Governor Mwangaza did not warrant her impeachment.
