Siaya Governor James Orengo has cautioned leaders against spreading divisive politics in Kenya.

The Governor on Friday said that time was ripe for Kenyan leaders to speak in one voice for the sake of the country.

"Let us have good politics because we are one Kenya one voice. We must bring political hygiene to Kenya's politics."

The ODM Governor further told President William Ruto that he was welcomed in Siaya even in his absence.

Orengo said that the President had the right to visit any region in Kenya.

On a light note, he said he was okay with Ruto being in his county because he is a product of the ODM Party.

"I have no problem with you coming to Siaya. Infact many of the leaders who are now part of the government including the President is a product of ODM. All of them are ODM and myself I'm deep in ODM," Orengo added.

President Ruto before 2011 was an ODM member under Raila Odinga's leadership.

He had been appointed to the Cabinet courtesy of ODM leader Raila Odinga following the disputed 2007 presidential results that led to the formation of the Grand Coalition Government.

On August 24, 2011, Raila who was then Kenya’s prime minister axed rebel party members from his cabinet.

They included the then East African Community Minister Hellen Sambili,  Assistant Livestock Minister Aden Duale, and Ruto who was the Minister for Agriculture.

President Ruto is currently in an extensive development tour of opposition chief Raila Odinga's Luo Nyanza heartland.

The President's four-day tour comes amid calls from a section of political leaders from the region to suspend the trip over the Sondu clashes.

The clashes between two communities living along the border have so far claimed seven lives with some politicians from Luo Nyanza threatening to snub the president's tour.

This would be the second major and extensive development tour of the four Luo Nyanza counties since his election last year.
