City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi now wants President William Ruto to tell Kenyans if he is ready to protect their lives and property.

He said the president should publicly make this clear.

The lawyer insisted that if Ruto is not ready to protect Kenyans, he should tell them to protect their lives and property from the violence caused by Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

"President William Ruto should tell Kenyans wazi wazi if he is ready, able, and willing to protect their lives and property from the violence of Hon Raila. If he is not, then let him tell Kenyans to protect their lives and property from the violence of Hon Raila. Dawa ya moto ni moto!" Ahmednasir said.

His statement followed earlier remarks where he called on Ruto to either give Raila what he wants or deal with him once and for all.

Ahmednasir said violent protests is the former Prime Minister's game and he is good at it, and the sooner he's dealt with, the better.

"Unleashing violence after losing a presidential election so that he is "bought off the streets" is Raila's well-trodden path. It worked for him in 1997. It worked for him in 2007. It worked for him in 2018. He is trying it in 2023. This is his game... And he is good at it," he said.

On Wednesday, protests called by the opposition were marred with chaos and vandalism.

Deaths, destruction of property, teargas canisters, stone throwing were the order of the day.

The opposition, however, denies that the violence was caused by their supporters. They claim it was by goons hired by the state.
