Boost for Ngatia as Mudavadi, Wetang'ula endorse re-election bid

They say his manifesto resonates with that of Kenya Kwanza government.

Richard Ngatia's re-election bid as the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry President has been boosted following the endorsement of his candidature by key national leaders. 

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi have endorsed him and his Team Volcano squad for a second term for the polls slated for June.

Ngatia, who is seeking re-election with Abdulwalli Shariff as his running mate, will contest against the Chamber's Vice President Eric Rutto.

Wetang'ula and Mudavadi pledged their support for Ngatia's bid when he and his team paid them a courtesy call at their respective offices on Wednesday.

"Ngatia's experience and manifesto resonates with our Kenya Kwanza government vision and we therefore feel that if him together with his team are elected they will be able to push our agenda of developing Kenya's economy," the leaders said.

Mudavadi also showed his support for Director John Shimaka in his bid as the incoming KNCCI National Director for Western Region.

Ngatia thanked the Prime CS for his support.

"As a group, we are honoured to have received this endorsement and appreciate the Prime Cabinet Secretary's recognition of our efforts. We will continue to work diligently to support our region and promote its growth and development," he said.

During the courtesy call, Ngatia and Shariff were accompanied by the Chamber's regional leaders including, Shimaka, Sylvanus Abungu (Chairman of Busia Chapter), Billy Nyonze (Chairman of Vihiga Chapter), Charles Omutany (Vice Chairman of Kakamega Chapter), Martin Waliaula, (Chairman of Trans Nzoia Chapter) and Peter Juma ( Director of Kakamega Chapter).
