Trade CS Moses Kuria has threatened to instigate revenge after goons torched a bus on Ngong Road early Tuesday.

A bus believed to be a public service vehicle was burnt by unknown people on Ngong Road on a day Azimio had vowed to resume mass protests. No one was hurt.

"Revenge will be swift and in corresponding measure. This will be the last. I solemnly promise," Kuria said in a tweet in response to an article that carried the story.

Witnesses said those behind the attack were not from the area and that the attackers arrived in groups and looked organised.

The goons are said to have thrown petrol bombs onto the oncoming bus as the driver tried unfruitfully to make a U-turn and escape.

Police could not salvage the vehicle as it was burnt beyond repair.

Kuria's remarks came shortly after Narc leader Martha Karua blamed  him and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for Tuesday's chaos.

"Hooligans were hired to cause mayhem and destroy properties, we are aware they were acting under the command of Gachagua and Kuria," she said while addressing the press at Upper Hill in Nairobi.

"They were recruited at a meeting in Thika a few days ago, and were ferried to Nairobi last night. They stoned motorists, burned vehicles and blamed it on our peaceful protesters."
