Former Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando has urged former President Uhuru Kenyatta to disentangle himself from the clashes in the Jubilee party.

In a statement on his Twitter account on Wednesday, Kabando acknowledged Uhuru's role in the democratic transition of governance after the August 2022 elections.

He added that it had earned him honour, urging him to now stop debasing himself by getting involved in the Jubilee wrangles.

"Rais Uhuru, Sir: You presided over a smooth, democratic transition from 4th to 5th. That earned you a great roll of honour even after wasting a historic chance for exemplary legacy," he said.

"Please stop stooping so low by embroiling in nasty, petty squabbles in a Jubilee that's as dead as dodo."

This follows Uhuru's visit to the Jubilee Headquarters in Kileleshwa on Wednesday shortly after supporters of Kanini Kega and Jeremiah Kioni clashed.

The commotion was characterised by stone pelting which led to heavy police deployment.

The officers had to use teargas to disperse the supporters.

Kioni's supporters were trying to force their entry into the Jubilee headquarters but were blocked.

Uhuru said he visited the offices after receiving a call from Kioni.

"The moment I was called by the SG, he told me what had transpired and I have come to stand with him and our members to protect our party. I don't have anything else," he said.

The retired Head of State said the party was going to solve its issues internally.

"We have our mechanisms as a political party with which to solve our problems and we shall solve and we shall have our meetings and the party's membership will decide the party's future," he said.

At the same time, he urged Kenyans to embrace peace.
