Former Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria has told Azimio leader Raila Odinga that he will lead demonstrations in Central.

Speaking on Thursday during the multi-sectorial leaders meeting at Ufungamano Hall, Mwangi Wa Iria rubbished claims that the Central region did not participate in demos.

"It's like Central Kenya is not involved in demonstrations, it is not true. For us (Central) we usually study first. Our demos are coming and I will personally lead it over the cost of coffee, tea and other food commodities, " he said.

Jubilee SG Jeremiah Kioni reiterated Mwangi Wa Iria's sentiments appealing to Central leaders to follow suit and participate in demos.

He accused Central Kenya of not coming out to join the rest of the countries to demonstrate.

"If Mt Kenya people had come out to demonstrate in the last two weeks, we would be in a different space today, they are the ones holding back on this government and they are the only ones holding Ruto in State House," Kioni said.

Raila, on Wednesday, held talks with Mwangi Wa Iria in his Karen Home.

The meeting came at a time when Raila announced a return to the public engagement campaigns after a two-week lull.

Raila is seeking a strategic partnership with Wa Iria as he seeks to consolidate his support in the Mt Kenya region ahead of the parliamentary talks.
