Opposition leader Raila Odinga has arrived at the Ufungamano House in Nairobi for the multi-sectoral leaders' meeting.
The forum is hosted by civil society groups to discuss"important issues affecting our nation," Raila said in a notice on Wednesday.
Narc-K leader Martha Karua, Wycliffe Oparanya, Eugene Wamalwa and former Murang’a governor Mwangi wa Iria are also in attendance.
According to Raila, the forum's objectives include rejecting the government-controlled Parliament, charting a path for Kenya's salvation and engaging all Kenyans in making the nation great.
Raila said the attendees will include veterans, human rights activists, intellectuals, faith-based organisations, trade unions, farmers' associations, small businesses and other civil society organisations.
The Azimio leader announced the return of public barazas Tuesday on a day the Kenya Kwanza wing unveiled a seven-member to the bipartisan Parliament committee.
"We will hold the first town hall meeting in Nairobi on Thursday, April 13 to be followed by a people's baraza at the Kamukunji grounds on Sunday, April 16, 2023," a statement reads.
The baraza comes at a time when some of Azimio's leaders have raised doubts about planned bipartisan talks.
National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi claimed Kenya Kwanza was sabotaging the talks by nominating Eldas MP Adan Keynan who is a member of the Jubilee— an Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition partner.
"We are totally surprised and stunned by the fact that they have appointed Adan Keynan who is a member of the Azimio la Umoja," he said.
