At least 20 police officers were injured in clashes with protesters in parts of Nairobi on Monday.

Police headquarters said one police car was razed and two others damaged in the chaos that was witnessed in Kawangware, Huruma, Makongeni and Dandora areas.

 

CAS case

High Court to give further directions today in a case where LSK and, Katiba Institute had secured orders barring CAS appointees from assuming office.

The court barred the appointed 50 CAS from being in office pending the determination of an application filed by the Law Society of Kenya and Katiba Institute.

Also, the court temporarily stopped the appointees from earning any salary, remuneration, or any benefit.

Anti-corruption court magistrate to deliver judgment in a case where former Bonchari MP Pavel Oimeke was charged with demanding Sh500,000 bribe from a petrol station attendant when he was the MD at the Energy and petroleum regulation authority.

Chaos aftermath

A section of a mosque in Kibera slums was burnt down in chaos that was witnessed in the area amid claims of sponsored thuggery on Monday.

And in retaliation, a group of youth raided the PCEA church in the area and set it on fire.
