“Every time, I tried to visit the office of the governor, there was always an excuse and we never got to have a meeting in this office,” he said.

Wambui thanked Governor Malombe for allowing him and a team of five Senators who had accompanied him to pay a courtesy call on him and enable him to get a brief.

He alleged that the finance offices were burned down by someone to conceal evidence of theft of public resources. He added that although he pursued the matter with DCI, the matters appeared to have gone cold but he was still on it.

“To date things at the DCI appear to have gone cold without giving alot of information,  I have personally written to higher office and asked for forensic audit on a number of issues that happened here.”

He pledged to share with the media and the governor when the report is availed to him so that it would be known, who exactly torched the Kitui finance offices and for what reason.
