The 2024 Economic Survey Report by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics showed that world real GDP slowed to 3.1 per cent in 2023 compared to 3.5 per cent in 2022.
The slowdown, it said, was more pronounced across Advanced Economies than in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs).
The report said global inflation eased from 8.7 per cent in 2022 to 6.8 per cent in 2023 primarily due to partial reversal of significant rise in energy prices and easing of supply chain disruptions.
The report said annual overall inflation remained at 7.7 per cent in 2023 mainly driven by high energy prices.
