Police on Thursday arrested two suspects who were pretending to be police officers.

They were arrested after they raided an apartment at Kihunguro in Ruiru, Kiambu County claiming to be detectives.

In a statement on Friday, DCI said that the two suspects raided a house at Elim Shepherd apartment at around 1 am.

"The suspects introduced themselves as detectives based at Pangani police station," DCI said.

Residents became suspicious and raised alarm attracting officers from Ruiru police station who rushed to the scene.

They called the police forcing the suspects to look for an escape route when they heard a police vehicle approaching.

"The swift response by the Ruiru based officers caught the thugs by surprise as one of them attempted to fly from the 3rd floor of the apartment only to land on the apartment’s floor injuring his head," DCI said.

The other suspect surrendered himself to the police with a fake pistol and fake police certificate of appointment.
