President William Ruto has awarded Kenyan Professionals in the United Kingdom with the honour of Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS) for services to Kenya and the world.

Among those who were awarded are Prof Washington Ochieng, Prof Phoebe Okowa and Dr Moses Langat.

"We thank President William Ruto for conferring on some distinguished Kenyan professionals in the UK the national honour of Elder of the Burning Spear EBS for services to Kenya and the world," they tweeted.

"Take a bow Prof Washington Ochieng, Prof Phoebe Okowa and Dr Moses Langat."

He also awarded Kenya's High Commissioner Manoah Esipisu with an Elder of the Burning Spear for service in diplomacy and public affairs.

He awarded Mission staff Martin Owuor and Nancy Diana with Order of the Grand Warrior (OGWs) for their role in the campaign to remove Kenya from the High-Risk Area. 

"We are also humbled and grateful to President for similarly honouring HC MEsipisu with an EBS for service in diplomacy and public affairs," Kenya High Commission in London tweeted.
