Ruto, Gachagua to attend church service in Kipipiri on Sunday

President Ruto will tour ongoing construction of cancer centre and launch projects in the area.

President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua will on Sunday attend an interdenominational church service in Kipipiri, Nyandarua county.

The event will be held at Wanjohi Primary school, hosted by area Member of Parliament Wanjiku Muhia.

This will be President's Ruto first visit the county since he assumed office in September.

Speaking to the Star, MP Muhia confirmed the President's visit to the area.

She said Ruto will use the visit to meet his supporters who voted for him in the last election.

Wanjiku confirmed that a host of the UDA delegation will accompany the President to the region.

“On Sunday, Kipipiri constituency will host President William and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, where they will launch several projects in the constituency," she said.

President Ruto will tour the ongoing construction of a cancer centre curtsey of Wanjiku Muhia.

She said the cancer centre was her brainchild from 2013 when she served as the Woman Representative for Nyandarua.

A month ago, the Committee on Regional Integration unanimously elected Muhia as the chairperson.

Gatanga MP Edward Muriu has said President William Ruto is ready to tour the whole of Mount Kenya region launching projects.

 “We appreciate the move by Ruto and Gachagua touring Mt Kenya uniting our people," Muriu said.

Muriu denied that there was a Bill being drafted to block deputy presidents from ascending to power.

He termed the story circulating on social media as fake and being sponsored to divert attention.

Last Sunday, President Ruto and a huge delegation from UDA attended a prayer service in Embu county.
