A woman who allegedly colluded with another man in Langata to beat up a police officer after an argument over bright light from a car has been charged in court.

Sophia Nyambura was charged with causing grievous harm to Charles Mukamba Gitiba contrary to section 234 of the penal code.

The charge sheet says that the accused person committed the offence on October 16 at park 2 estate, in Langata subcounty.

The accused person is said to have parked the car with bright lights next to the complainant’s car, resulting into an argument.

The accused person through her lawyer Benson Nzakyo told the court that she was not a flight risk.

“She was arrested on Friday and has been in custody since then. I urged the court to grant him a lenient cash bail,” he said.

He said that the accused person’s family was only in a position to pay Sh50,000 cash bail.

Chief magistrate Ann Mwangi released him on Sh50,000 cash bail.

The matter will be mentioned after two weeks.
