Speaking at a workshop in Mombasa, on Saturday, Amin acknowledged the gains made so far through the multi-agency security framework.

He said he is committed to supporting efforts by the government and all other stakeholders involved in the sustained anti-terror war.

“We will stay focused on the threat to the end,” Amin said.

Terrorism and violent extremism are a major challenge in the country as it continues to disrupt many lives.

Tens of Kenyans have died out of terror incidents in the past years.

Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji also attended the event to launch HAKI Africa publication of Good Practices for Enhancing Access to Justice in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism.

He called for strengthening inter and intra-agency collaboration in tackling the scourge.

“Organised criminal syndicates and terrorist organisations continue to evolve and exploit technology and digital evolution.

The success of this project is an example of the gains made through our adoption of a “whole-of-society approach” in our cooperation with CSOs,” Haji said.

He also called on the criminal justice sector actors to be sensitive to the needs of society and the citizens they have been called to serve.

The DPP urged them to adopt a human-rights-centric approach and to combat terrorism and counter violent extremism within the rule of law.
