Ruto to attend prayers in Murang’a on Sunday

President will be accompanied by his deputy and host of UDA leaders from across the country

President William Ruto is expected to attend an interdenominational prayer service in Murang’a county on Sunday.

The prayers will be held at Kariguini grounds in Kenol town and will be hosted by Murang’a Governor Irungu Kanga’ta and a host of county leadership.

The President's visit was confirmed by  Kang'ata through his social media pages.

“Welcome all to Murang’a County, president Ruto will be our chief guest," the post read.

Gatanga MP and UDA legal secretary general Edward Muriu has also confirmed Ruto’s visit to the county.

Muriu said Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua value prayers and thus the need to bring the people together to thank God.

“President Ruto and his deputy Gachagua are indeed expected to visit Murang’a on Sunday for interdenominational prayer service and everyone is invited,” Muriu said.

He said the Kenya Kwanza administration is ready to fulfil campaign promises and make the lives of Kenyans better.

He said Ruto is determined to lower the cost of living and create a conducive environment for economic growth.

The President since he assumed office has been attending various church services in different counties.

Immediately after being announced as president-elect alongside his deputy Gachagua on August 21, 2022, the duo attended a thanksgiving church service at PCEA Gathiru-ini in Githunguri, Kiambu county.

On September 4, 2022, he graced Larmudiac School Grounds in Njoro, Nakuru county while on October 2, 2022, Ruto attended a church service at AIC in Homa Bay.

Among those expected to accompany him to the event  include Moses Kuria (CS Trade), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu MP), Alice Wahome (CS Water) Joe Nyutu (Murang'a senator), Mary Waithira (Maragua MP)  and MP Muriu  among others.
