Lawyer Miguna Miguna will arrive in Kisumu on Friday at 3pm for his homecoming ceremony following his arrival in Kenya from Canada last Thursday.

The visit comes after a four-year absence from the country following his forced exile in Canada in March 2018.

Kisumu Senator Fred Outa said upon arrival at Kisumu International Airport, Miguna will be driven to the ACK Maseno East in Ahero for a prayer service.

He said the church service which will commence at 4pm will be presided over by Bishop Joshua Owiti to thank God for aiding the return of the lawyer.

The senator called on the residents of Kisumu to accord Miguna a befitting welcome devoid of any violence.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Miguna appealed to Kisumu residents not to instigate any acts of violence during his visit.

Outa said the people of Kisumu should thank God that the lawyer has returned to his country and will be visiting his family in Nyando after years outside the country.

The administration of President William Ruto removed the red flags that had been imposed against Miguna by former President Uhuru Kenyatta's regime to deny Miguna entry into the country.

Miguna’s woes started immediately after the 2017 general election following his involvement in the illegal swearing-in of ODM leader Raila Odinga as the people's president.
