Lawyer Miguna Miguna is set to visit his home in Kisumu on Friday days after his return from Canada where he was in forced exile.

Miguna said it will be a honourable visit as he has not met his family for a long time.

"Going home, especially for a person who has been forcefully exiled for 5 years, is not an act of war. It is an act of peace, emotional and physical restoration," he said.

He urged his rivals not to send goons to stone him as he is going to mourn his family members who passed on while he was away.

"Please don't mobilize unemployed youth to stone me on Friday. I'm going to mourn my family members," he said.

Miguna had already made the announcement on Tuesday that he will be visiting his home.

In a statement, the lawyer said that he will be in the lake-side city on Friday, October 28.

"I will arrive in Kisumu on Friday, October 28th, 2022. Kenya is marwa!" he said on Twitter.

This will be Miguna, a former advisor to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's first visit outside Nairobi since his return to the country on October 20.

He had been in forced exile for about five years.

Upon his return on Thursday, Miguna was received by friends and relatives who had lined up to welcome him.

He was forced out of the country in 2018 and had since not been able to get back into the country despite several attempts.
