The suspect in the murder of Ida Odinga's bodyguard will be arraigned in a Kisumu court on Monday.

Collins Oulo Okundi was arrested in Eldoret on Sunday after he surrendered to the police.

The suspect was ferried from Eldoret on Monday morning and is currently at the Kisumu High Court cell.

A pistol believed to be that of the slain officer was recovered during the arrest.

Okundi, a manager at a popular club, is currently being held at Kisumu Central Police station.

According to sources, the investigation team will be seeking custodial orders to detain the suspect for more days as they continue with the probe.

Kisumu county police commander Alphonse Kimanthi had on Sunday confirmed that the suspect will be arraigned on Monday.
