National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula on Thursday ruled that Kenya Kwanza is the majority party in Parliament.

Following the decision, Narok County Senator Ledama Ole Kina said  Wetangula is seemingly having the last laugh after his fall out with the ODM leader Raila Odinga-led camp.

Ledama said even though the Speaker was, according to him, wrong when declaring Kenya Kwanza Alliance the majority in the house, the decision rekindles his pledge of making his separation from Raila's camp "noisy and messy".

"Speaker @HonWetangula has broken a new record as an advocate of the high court! He has declared any form of agreements made in this country as null and void and his decision now form part of a new jurisprudence in Kenya," he tweeted on Friday.

"He gets the last laugh - divorce is noisy, messy and ugly!"

In his ruling, Wetangula said Azimio La Umoja Coalition as a party had no elected members in Parliament.

"If it were to be considered a political party, the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party has no elected member in this house today as no elected member was elected under its banner,"Wetangula ruled.

“This by implication means that Kenya Kwanza is the Majority and Azimio is the Minority.”

Wetangula's fell out with Raila Odinga in March, 2018, after he was ousted as the Minority leader and replaced with Siaya Governor James Orengo.

In his submission after his ouster, Wetangula said:

"If anybody wants a divorce, it will be messy, it will be very noisy and it will not be easy."

It is that nasty divorce from Raila's camp that partly formed basis of him teaming with Ruto ahead of the 2022 General Elections.
