Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo has distanced himself from any association with freemasonry.
In a statement on Monday, the MP who is also an advocate distanced his law firm, which he co-owns with his business partner Ambrose Rachier.
His remarks followed an interview by Rachier on NTV where he publicly admitted to be a member of the freemasonry and went on to give insights of what the group is all about.
The duo have a law firm together dubbed Rachier and Amollo Limited Liability Partnership.
Amollo insisted that he is not a member of the organisation and that their law firm is not in any way associated with it.
"Interesting times! Have seen an interview by my Law firm partner Ambrose Rachier on Freemasonry! I am not and will never join Freemasonry! Let it be known that the Law firm of Rachier and Amollo LLP is not associated with the movement," he tweeted.
On the Sunday night interview, Rachier said he was introduced to the Freemasonry by two of his friends in 1994.
"I got interviewed, accepted, got initiated and I've since grown to be a senior officer," he said.
He added that he is on his 30th degree according to the levels they undergo.
"There are 3 degrees but there are others that go on until the highest which we call a 33rd degree and that's symbolic, that's the age of Jesus. I am now at the 30th degree."
The Rarieda MP said he was not aware of his involvement in the society, hence the move to clear the air that he and their firm is not associated.
