Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has appointed her husband Murega Baicu as the Meru Youth Service Patron.

Speaking during the unveiling of her cabinet, Mwangaza said Murega’s position will not be paid or compensated but will be more of a volunteer as he serves the county.

She said her husband has more work experience than all the others and is fit for the role but in his department, he will not be receiving a penny.

“This office will neither have a salary nor will it have allowances. This office will be held by the first gentleman of the county, he will just be helping the less fortunate and uplifting them,” she said.

Murega, who is also the founder of Baite TV, was also given the role of Meru hustlers Ambassador by the ministry of tourism.

He is also an apostle and plays the guitar.

"I have also given him another powerful role as Meru Hustlers Ambassador. He will be reporting to the governor so when you see him with his cap at Governor's office, just know he will be representing the hustlers," Kawira said.
