Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo has sent County Secretary Ahmed Galgalo Guyo home, as he makes administrative changes to improve service delivery to residents.
Galgalo has been replaced with Yusuf Mohamed Galgalo who is also Isiolo’s Chief Officer for land.
“In the circumstances and in the exercise of the powers conferred upon me by Section 44(2)© of the County Government Act No.17 of 2012, this is to notify you of the termination of your services of the County Secretary of Isiolo with effect from the date of this letter,” reads the letter addressed to Ahmed Galgalo.
In a letter dated August 30, 2022, Governor Guyo explains that the County Secretary’s office was among those that have been earmarked for immediate changes in order to ensure effective service delivery in accordance with my electoral manifesto.
In the meantime, the former County Secretary is expected to liaise with the Directorate of Human Resources for purposes of computation of his dues and settlement of the same.
“On my own behalf and that of the County Government of Isiolo, I wish to thank you for the services you have rendered to the great people of this County and wish you all the best in your future endeavours,” reads the letter further.
The letter was copied to the County Public Service Board, Speaker, County Executive Committee Members ( CEC) and Chief Officers
Speaking to the Star, Governor Guyo added that changes are necessary to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the execution of service delivery to the people of Isiolo.

The duo has been making impromptu visits to establish how affairs have been running in the county.
A night visit to the Isiolo county referral hospital led to the shocking discovery of the county's health system.
It was discovered only one doctor was in the night shit and making the situation worse, the pharmacy department was closed with no employee at the facility.
In an attempt to streamline the issue, the Governor issued directives to the ICTRH MED-SUP and the current CEC health to compile a list of health workers who were supposed to be on duty but deliberately absconded for immediate disciplinary action.
"My administration will not condone laxity, especially in all health facilities across the county," Guyo added.
