People said they did not want the United Democratic Alliance party MP at the polling center for fear that he would tamper with the voting.

The MP was arrested during the August 9 general elections for allegedly causing chaos at two polling centres in his area.

In one incident, he started a fight with an MCA candidate and later accompanied youths in two vans and interrupted voting at Naka Primary School.

On Monday, Gikaria went to Mercy Njeri Primary School polling centre where he camped for three hours from 6am when the stations were opened.

He later moved to Kiamunyi Secondary School but was blocked by voters and other agents.

UDA has deployed elected MPs and governors to monitor elections in the 197 polling stations in Rongai.

The decision was arrived at last week when Deputy President elect, Rigathi Gachagua toured the area to campaign for Paul Chebor.
