Uhuru lauds religious leaders for support during his tenure

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday lauded religious leaders for their support during his tenure that is nearing an end.

It is during the meeting that the outgoing president assured them of a smooth transition process.

The interfaith group that had paid Uhuru a courtesy call at the State House, commended him for his leadership saying it ensured peace, stability and cohesion among Kenyans.

They also expressed gratitude to the outgoing President for working toward a united Kenya by creating a path of inclusivity for all citizens.

The leaders included Mombasa Catholic Archdiocese Archbishop Martin Kivuva, Archbishop Antony Muheria of Nyeri and Anglican Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit.

The Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) Hassan Ole Naado was also present.

Other members of the clergy who attended the meeting included Sheikh Yusuf Nasur Maki, Nairobi Catholic Archdiocese Archbishop Philip Anyolo and Bishop Emeritus David Oginde.

Bishops Emeritus Silas Yego and Robert Langat were also present along Canon Chris Kinyanjui and Father Ferdinard Lugonzo.
