A delegation from the United States is expected to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto (President-elect) and Azimio leader Raila Odinga.

The delegation led by Delaware Senator Chris Coons arrived in the country on Wednesday evening. They were received by the US Ambassador Meg Whitman.

The delegation is on an official visit to five Africa countries.

"Fantastic to welcome the Senator Chris Coons-led delegation to , the third stop on a five country Africa visit! The delegation will meet with conservationists, health providers, and organizations working to empower girls," Whitman said in a tweet.

This comes a few days after IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati declared William Ruto as president-elect in the just concluded general election.

The delegation will among others discuss shared goals issues, including health, security and economic prosperity.
