Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has retained his seat after garnering 58,408 votes, winning all the five wards in the constituency.

His main competitor lawyer Nelson Havi got 19,550 votes.

Wanyonyi swung back to the contest on an ODM ticket after dropping his bid for the Nairobi governor position.

Speaking to journalists, Wanyonyi said his win was a clear evidence of the confidence that the electorate have in him.

"The people of Westlands have shown that I am their deserved leader. There is alot we have achieved and alot to come," Wanyonyi said.

Havi had on Wednesday, during the tallying of votes, claimed bribery of agents and voters.

Speaking to the Star on telephone, Havi said his agents had been bribed, particularly in Mountain View and Kangemi wards.

"Everybody has been bought out. I don't believe in playing dirty, so I have left it to him. I want to move on," he said.

He, however, conceded to Wanyonyi.

"Well done Team Havi. We are the minority in the contest for Westlands. The majority chose Timothy Wanyonyi. They duly deserve him in their wisdom or lack of it. On our part, we are contented with the outcome. Congratulations to you my elder brother, Tim Wanyonyi. Serve well," he tweeted.
