Vihiga County returning officer Peter Tiyo has officially declared Wilber Ottichilo as the governor-elect.

Ottichilo was defending his seat via the ODM party.

He was declared the governor-elect after garnering 82,313 votes across the county to emerge the winner.

Former governor Moses Akaranga emerged second with 42,432 votes and was followed by Senator George Khaniri who came third with 28,496 votes.

The outgoing MP for Sabatia Alfred Agoi got 26,088 votes and Francis Ominde had 2,325 votes.

The total votes cast across the county were 181,654 against the registered voters - 310,063.
