Some unmarked ballot boxes and Kiems kits have been found at the NITA training centre in Mavoko constituency.
Chief agent for Machakos governor candidate Nzioka Waita, Erick Maweu reported the boxes are not marked and no one had claimed them.
He said they have no idea who came with the ballot boxes as they were not accompanied by a presiding officer.
Maweu claimed they do not know the contents in the boxes as the only thing seen are papers and the kits.
"Police have stopped us from taking photos and checking what is inside," he said.
The Chief agent noted that IEBC officials at the centre were unaware of the unmarked ballot boxes.
The Machakos governor’s seat has attracted five candidates, including Waita.
Others are former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, former Transport and Infrastructure CAS Wavinya Ndeti, Deputy Governor Francis Maliti and Rose Mulwa of the Empowerment and Liberation Party.
On Wednesday, Ndeti had also raised claims of election malpractices.
There was tension at a polling station in Machakos county following a mix-up of Forms 37A on Tuesday.
The incident prompted Wavinya to storm Imani polling station in Athi River, Mavoko, at around 1 am.
Machakos county police commander Issa Mohammud said Wavinya made a report at Athi River police station, with rigging claims.
“There was an incident involving a presiding officer at a polling station in Imani polling centre on Tuesday night. Agents of governor candidates realized a mix-up in Form 37A after the presiding officer issued them the form to sign,” Mohammud said.
Mohammud spoke to the Star on Wednesday.
Ndeti’s result had been recorded as her CCU competitor Nzioka Waita’s, while his was recorded as Wavinya's.
“The agents realised that Ndeti’s results had been wrongly entered in Form 37A by the presiding officer at Amani polling station. The error was, however, rectified and a new form was filled with Ndeti’s correct results,” Mohammud said.
