Emuhaya MP Amboko Milemba retains seat

His closest challenger Ebole Johnson had a paltry 3,185 votes.

Emuhaya Member of Parliament Amboko Milemba has successfully defended his seat.

Constituency Returning officer Kennedy Ogutu declared Omboko  the winner after he garnered  27,717 votes against his competitor  Asienga Ebole of ODM who gathered 3185  and Ainea Makanga of DAP-K who gathered 657 votes.

The voter turnout in the constituency was at 62.8 per cent - 31,559 of the 50,184 registered voters.

Out of the 31,559 votes cast, 519 votes were rejected.

He pledged to embrace development projects and work to improve people's lives.

Omboko while addressing his supporters at the IEBC tallying center shortly after being declared a winner commended them for maintaining peace during the entire exercise.

“This was just a competition, not enmity and I'm glad we have done it peacefully and I urge we sustain that peace up to the end of the general election,” he said.

Omboko attributed his success to proper service delivery to his people and being accountable to them as the reason why he won the seat with a big margin.

He was first elected to Parliament in 2017 on ANC and has been re-elected on the same party.

The MP-elect promised to work with his opponents, calling them to bring the ideas they have for the betterment of the constituents, assuring residents that he will fulfill pledges he made during campaign.

"Let's now embark on serious business to serve the people," he said.

He assured residents that he will serve them equally regardless of gender, race, political affiliation or tribe and make sure the resources are shared equally in the constituency.
