The Media Council of Kenya has said it is working with media owners and editors to find a way to coordinate the presidential results.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the MCK chief executive David Omwoyo acknowledged that the agency has noted the growing concerns on the different results aired by different media houses.

"The MCK is in consultation with media owners and editors to find an urgent solution to this to ensure Kenyans receive synchronized results," the statement reads.

Omwoyo said that in the past, media houses have worked together on matters of national interest successfully.

He said all the results aired, however different, are summed from the numbers provided by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

The CEO reminded the audience that the official results will come form the electoral agency.

MCK has also launched investigations into the arrest and detention of Pwani FM reporter, Eric  Munene.

Munene, who is detained at Likoni police station, is accused of following up and reporting on late arrival of ballot boxes at YMCA Likoni tallying station.

The police said they needed more information from him after boxes were dumped and left in the premises of the tallying station.
