A man was on Tuesday charged with threatening to kill his grand mother on July 9 at Waruku village of Kangemi in Nairobi County.

Gerald Muhu was charged with threatening to kill Mary Wanjiku Kihara alongside other family members.

He allegedly told them, “I will kill everyone in this house and kill myself.”

According to the prosecution, the accused person is said to have visited her grandmother’s place and sat at the door without uttering a word.

The family members are said to have persuaded him to enter the house, but he only moved to a corridor before uttering threatening them.

Taking nothing to chance, Kihara and her children reported the matter at Kabete police station and the suspect was arrested.

He denied the charges before Kibera senior principal magistrate Esther Boke and was released on a Sh500,000 bond with the surety of the same amount.

Boke directed that the case be mentioned later this month for a pre-trial where she will give more directions.
