Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua will Tuesday evening hold a joint media conference.

This will be the first time the Azimio duo will be holding a joint media engagement since the unveiling of Karua as Raila's running mate on May 16, 2022.

It will run from 7.30pm to 10pm.

The agenda of the meeting, however, remains highly guarded but the Azimio presidential Press Secretary Dennis Onsarigo said the meeting will be held at an undisclosed venue in Karen.

“A link will be sent for people to watch live,” Onsarigo told the Star on phone without disclosing further details.

But even then, Azimio’s recently unveiled manifesto is likely to feature on the agenda as the team seeks to counter their main competitor Deputy President William Ruto.

Ruto is expected to launch the Kenya Kwanza manifesto on Thursday evening at Kasarani Stadium.

On Monday, the UDA presidential candidate signed a charter with the youth and promised to ensure the economy caters for their needs if elected president.

This election is about the aspirations of our young people. It is about building an economy that will bring these aspirations to reality,” Ruto said during the Youth Forum at Nyayo Stadium.

Ruto and Raila, the presidential front-runners, are expected to intensify campaigns in at least 11 swing counties with slightly more than four million votes up for grabs.

The regions could determine the outcome of the presidential duel on August 9, with analysts saying whoever carries the day in the battleground regions will most likely easily win the August 9 general election.
