Azimio presidential candidate Martha Karua has called on the Mt Kenya electorate to elect leaders based on their actions not words.
Karua said many political leaders have fashioned themselves in quoting Bible verses but their actions carry a different message.
"For those trying to show they are closer to God than others, they should know Jesus said not all who call him Lord Lord will see the Kingdom of God.
"Being a Christian is not in name, it's in actions," Karua said.
She was speaking on Friday during the Mt Kenya Forum in Thika Town.
The event was also attended by Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and several elected leaders.
In what appeared to be a thinly veiled attack against DP William Ruto, the Narc Kenya leader said some leaders have resorted to propaganda as their selling point to woo voters.
The DP on Thursday claimed Raila does not have a degree and challenged him to provide evidence.
Karua drummed up support their Azimio ticket at the event saying it's the best combination that will deliver what Kenyans have been yearning for.
"I was walking around here with my friend (Peter) Munya and many people said they have never voted for Raila but this time round they will vote for him.
"I told them even people in Nyanza and the whole Kenya have never voted for Martha. This year they have said they will vote for her," Karua said.
She urged residents in the Mt Kenya region to come out and vote to a man on August 9 and ensure Azimio wins the polls with a huge margin.
"We want a win with a margin where even a small child will say let it go, it's over."
Karua said they should target to give the Azimio ticket over 60 percent of the vote to ward off any presidential petition.
"This of 50 percent may cause problems because those who will not accept defeat will start complaining," Karua said.
The law requires that for a presidential candidate to be declared winner, he or she must garner 50 percent of total votes plus one vote.
While using a proverb in the Kikuyu dialect, Karua asked the Mt Kenya electorate to be careful not to split their votes.
"When transferring water from one pot to another, you can lose the water," Karua said.
