ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru on Friday said that Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) proponents do not need to apologize for championing a peace initiative.

"It is ridiculous to ask our elected community leaders to apologize for championing peace in our communities through Building Bridges," he tweeted.

On Thursday, during his Lamu County campaigns, Ruto said President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga should apologise to Kenyans for wasting their time with BBI talks.

"The Handshake brothers need to make an apology to the people of Kenya. They have wasted four good years of our time," Ruto said.

Ruto added that the duo sabotaged the Big four agenda that was going to give jobs to the youth because of the BBI initiative.

The DP further claimed that the promoters of the bill have spent billions of public money on the initiative only for it to be rendered an unconstitutional process.
