Deputy President William Ruto has told off the ODM party leader Raila Odinga accusing him of being a product of corruption.

Addressing residents in Wajir County on Thursday, Ruto said only the Kenya Kwanza Alliance can eradicate corruption in the country.

“The people campaigning with you have stolen from the sick people. They have stolen money from Kenya Medical and Supplies Agency (Kemsa) and they are financing your campaign, "the DP said in an apparent reference to Raila

“You are running a ‘dry cleaner’ for governors who have stolen from poor Kenyans and then you dare lecture us on corruption,” he added.

The DP could however not produce any evidence of corruption. The Star could also not independently verify the claims.

“You have no ground, you have no plan and the only group with a plan to fight corruption is Kenya Kwanza Alliance because we are going to operationalise the Judiciary Fund.”

Ruto said his government will offer independent budgets for fighting corruption to the offices of the public prosecutor and director of criminal investigations.

“We shall build institutions to fight corruption. But we will not do these small things you are telling us you want to do,” the DP said.

Ruto promised to change lives in Wajir County and the larger North Eastern region if elected President in August polls.

“We have the opportunity to form a government and on August 9, we have to decide our fate,” he said.

Ruto urged residents of Wajir to support his bid saying he will deliver development to them.

“We have some guys in Nairobi sitting in offices and hotels planning for us on who shall be the President of this country. That is impossible. It is we the people who will decide who the next President will be,”  Ruto said.
