Ruto takes fight to Uhuru's backyard as Azimio brigade courts city residents

Deputy President William Ruto will on Friday take his campaigns to President Uhuru Kenyatta's Kiambu backyard.

Ruto will lead the Kenya Kwanza Alliance to Kiambu East, where he will make several stops to address area residents.

The Deputy President will be looking to sell his bottom-up economics plan, as he seeks support from the region, for his presidential bid.

He is expected to make stopovers in Gatukuyu, Gituamba, Mataara, Kamwangi, Gatundu Town, Mutomo, Kiganjo and Kiamwangi.

The tour comes after several leaders from the President's home county declared support for his bid.

They include; former Governors William Kabogo and Ferdinand Waititu, and Senator Kimani wa Matangi among others.

The Azimio la Umoja brigade will on the hand tour the city to popularise ODM leader Raila Odinga's presidential bid.

This comes even as he continues his tour of the UK.

The team largely comprising of ODM, Jubilee and other affiliate parties will tour Starehe sub county areas of Marikiti, Gikomba and Ziwani garage.

They will end their tour with a rally at the Kamukunji Grounds.
