Ruto storms Meru, Tharaka Nithi as Raila holds Azimio NDC at KICC

Deputy President William Ruto will on Saturday be on a charm offensive of Eastern counties of Meru and Tharaka Nithi.

This comes just days after his closest challenger, Raila Odinga was welcomed to a warm reception in Meru.

Ruto who will be leading his Kenya Kwanza Alliance will sell his bottom up economic agenda, in efforts to woo the region to vote for him on August 9.

The DP is expected to make at least eight stops in the two counties.

Among towns he will visit include; Maua town, Kianjai Market, Tuskys Area, Nkubu Market, Giampampo Primary School, Chuka General Hospital, and Kibugua Stadium.

ODM leader Raila Odinga will on the other hand host an Azimio National Delegates Conference at the Kenyatta International Convention Center.

During the conference, Raila is expected to be unveiled as the outfits presidential flagbearer in the August 9 polls.

He is also expected to sign a pact with the One Kenya Alliance team led by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

This will be the former Prime Minister's fifth stab at the presidency and also highly seen as his last stab at the country's top job.

After KICC, Raila will proceed to the Jacaranda Grounds in Nairobi where he will officially kick off his presidential campaigns.
