Radio Africa's GM Martin Khafafa promoted to chief operating officer

Khafafa has worked with the company for 21 years.

Radio Africa's General Manager Martin Khafafa has been promoted to the new position of Group Chief Operating Officer.

Khafafa will now take charge of the daily operations of the entire group, which has seven leading radio stations, a daily newspaper and a TV station in addition to various digital assets. He will report to the Group CEO.

In an internal memo, Chief Executive Officer Patrick Quarcoo said Khafafa was appointed based on his track record of performance over the last 21 years. 

“Khafafa will oversee the company on a day to day basis, comprising of operational, efficiency, growing revenues and maintaining our competitive edge,” Quarcoo said.

The CEO said Khafafa will support and supervise all the heads of the Department in their daily operations while providing guidance and motivating them to drive maximum performance.

Radio Africa owns the Star, Kiss FM, Classic 105, Radio Jambo, Smooth FM, East FM  Gukena and Homeboyz  Radio.

Khafafa thanked Quarcoo and the board for their trust and faith in him.

Khafafa has worked with the company for 21 years.

He holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the United States International University and various business certifications in Media Management.

He also participated in the IESE Media Management program in New York and Barcelona.

Khafafa was the vice-chair of the Media Owners Association of Kenya.
