A youth political lobby group supportive of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader  Raila Odinga has told off the Tangatanga brigade for attacking state agencies.

Mt Kenya Youth Caucus, through its chairman Linford Mutembei on Tuesday, said Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza troops are insensitively attacking KRA, NIS and DCI.

This is after Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua claimed in a rally last week that some state officers were using the agencies ‘fix’ the DP’s allies.

But Mutembei held that it was reckless and insensitive for the UDA boss and his wing to make such claims for political expediency.

“We heard that camp claim that Nancy Gitau – a political strategist in the President’s Jubilee camp – was influencing NIS, DCI and KRA to fix DP allies,” he said.

“That was very unfortunate,” he added, saying the three institutions operate independently and those arrested or targeted are suspected of having committed an offence.

“Gitau is not a leader in government. Gitau is not an investigator or prosecutor,” Mutembei reckoned.

Mutembei held that institutions like NIS and DCI are sensitive and should not be dragged into unnecessary political rhetoric.

Speaking at a rally in Muranga last week, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Ruto’s close ally, claimed political strategist Nancy Gitau was working with the agencies to fix the DP and his troops.

“We want to address a lady called Nancy Gitau. She has given out names of the leaders who she has said should be dealt with by DCI and KRA if they will not attend the Jubilee NDC,” the MP said.
