Brace yourselves for a wet January, Weatherman tells Kenyans

Most parts of Nairobi County likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall.

More rainfall is expected over most places of Kenya, the Kenya Meteorological Department has said.

In a weather forecast on Monday, Met said there are areas that will receive moderate to heavy rainfall.

These areas include; Samburu, Turkana, Baringo, Laikipia, Kitale, Eldoret, Nyandarua, Nyahururu, Nairobi, Nyeri, Kiambu and Meru.

Other areas include; Embu, Kajiado, Kitui, Makueni,Kericho, Nakuru, Migori, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, West Pokot, Marsabit & Isiolo.

"Most parts of Nairobi County likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall," Met said.

"Plan well and avoid traffic especially late afternoon to evening hours."

On Friday, Met said moderate rains are expected in parts of the country.

"Some parts of North-Eastern, North-Western and the Coastal region are likely to remain sunny and dry," she said.
