The team won two golds, silver, and a bronze.

Ugandan Peruth Chemutai gave her country the first gold in the women's 3000m steeplechase at the Tokyo Olympics, after a commanding performance in the last lap.

She became the first-ever Ugandan female athlete to win gold at the Olympics — in addition to setting a national record in the women's steeplechase.
