Pipeline finished as runners-up behind winners Zamalek of Egypt while last year’s champions KCB finished fifth.

It was all jubilation at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Wednesday morning, as Kenya’s representatives at the recently concluded Africa Women’s Club Championship in Tunisia, KCB and Kenya Pipeline teams jetted back.

The players were welcomed by family and friends who had gathered at the airport to receive the heroes back home.

Pipeline finished as runners-up behind winners Zamalek of Egypt while last year’s champions KCB finished fifth.

Pipeline’s duo of Trizah Atuka and Naomi Too were named in the ‘Dream Team’ after leading their side to a first final in almost 10 years. Atuka was named the best middle blocker while Too was named as the best opposite.

Pipeline’s Coach Paul Gitau, said his charges achieved the target they had set before the tournament.

On the other hand, the Bankers tactician Japheth Munala said poor reception was the cause of their early elimination from the competition.

KCB failed to defend the title they won in 2022 after being bundled out of the competition at the round of 16 and forced to play in the classification matches.
