Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has said he will stay put in the opposition and ensure the government delivers its promises to Kenyans.

He said those running to the government's side want to weaken the opposition but they won't manage.

Osotsi said without opposition the government of the day will frustrate citizens and oppress them.

“Am going to stay put in the opposition to ensure the government delivers as required,” he said on Sunday.

“If its taxing Kenyans we want them to be taxed fairly and according to what they earn from their small businesses.”

The senator further accused the President of ignoring the hustler nation despite promising them goodies if he gets the seat.

He said the President had promised to reward his hustler team with political offices.

The lawmaker said the Head of State has instead appointed billionaires and millionaires in his Cabinet.

Among those appointed in Ruto's Cabinet were Musalia Mudavadi with a net worth of Sh4 billion, Kipchumba Murkomen and Aden Duale.

"We expected the President to appoint mama mboga, boda boda and other hustlers in his Cabinet," Osotsi said.

The lawmaker further said the 30 per cent Ruto had promised Mulembe nation was thrown under the bus as the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities reap big.

"It's on record, the Head of State has ignored regional balance and rewarding of the Mulembe nation the 30 per cent. He instead rewarded the two communities largely," he said.

Osotsi also told off Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua urging him to stop his accusations on opposition leader Raila Odinga.

"Raia is not your equal so you have no capacity to lecture him at any cost," he said.

The senator said Raila is a Kenyan state man and he requires his respect at all cost.
