Kenya Kwanza leaders are confident of winning the August 9 presidential election, a Vihiga senator aspirant has said.
Jackson Swadi, who wants to succeed Senator George Khaniri, said on Sunday that Kenya Kwanza has the capacity to win majority seats countrywide and asked Luhyas to join the alliance.
He said ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and UDA's William Ruto have strong support bases to propel the alliance to victory in August.
"Mudavadi, DP Ruto and Moses Wetang'ula are easy to market countrywide than the other side," Swadi said, referring to Azimio la Umoja camp.
Swadi said Ruto, Mudavadi and Wetang'ula are leaders who have the capacity to deliver based on their political ideologies.
He said the election should be based on ideologies that will revive Kenya's economy and development.
Swadi was speaking at ADC church headquarters in Hamisi at the weekend.
The aspirant challenged Kenyans not to make the wrong choices on the ballot.
"Don't elect someone because you have been told to elect them. First assess that individual's capacity to deliver," he said.
Swadi said if elected senator he will ensure county resources are well utilised.
"I will keep the governor on toes to ensure our people get the services they deserve," he said.
Swadi told his competitors to prepare for a tough battle on August 9.
Swadi will face Godfrey Osotsi (ODM), Babira Ndeda (PPOK), Kennedy Butiko (ANC), Sisco Mbindi, Leo Ongadi and Joseph Simekha in the race.
