Vihiga senatorial aspirant Babira Ndeda has called for free and fair party nominations.

Ndeda, who will be fighting for the ANC ticket, said the party will lose terribly unless it get its act together in the primaries.

“What we don’t want is the ANC party to impose leaders on us. Let the residents elect leaders of their choice who will present their interests in the August house,” Ndeda said.

He spoke to the Star following rumours that he was planning to quit the party.

Another aspirant who is facing the same challenge is Jackson Swadi who is currently planning to join Ford Kenya.

“If I have plans to quit the ANC party I will inform the members of the media but at the moment I am in Nairobi,” Swadi said.

“At the moment I am the only powerful candidate for the ANC in the forthcoming election.”

Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi (ODM) said ANC is eyeing to give Joseph Simekha the ANC ticket to divide his votes.

“ANC party is currently planning to give Simekha a party ticket to ruin my bloc but I urge you my people don’t be duped,” Osotsi said.

However, Ndeda said if Mudavadi will allow shambolic party primaries then will turn out to be a great loser.

He said has been using his resources to popularise the party across the county, even as Mudavadi’s inner circle says they (the party) should work on regional balancing.

“Currently a section of elected leaders under ANC party are holding night meetings to decide who should be given the party ticket behind the party leader and we are watching them keenly,” he said.

He said Musalia Mudavadi can only be empowered politically if he has the right foot soldiers who champion his interest.
