Parties not to blame for elusive Luhya unity - MP Milemba

Says despite other region having many political parties’ leaders in those areas have maintained their decorum

Multiple political parties in western are not responsible for the disunity in Mulembe nation Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba has opined.

The lawmaker says despite of Rift valley, central, eastern, among other region having many political parties’ leaders in those areas have maintained their decorum.

“I have not seen DP Ruto or Gideon Moi undressing each other in public as we have here in western,” Omboko said.

“Even in central Kenya we have not seen such backwardness that cannot benefit our people,” he added.

The MP said the region can still remain in different parties but leaders must focus on development politics and ignore petty issues.

Omboko said the region’s unity is paramount and it will help them achieve much.

The lawmaker says he will support the coalitions that will help residents form the next government.

Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi urged Milemba to join Azimio la Umoja citing that he is more capable in it than in Kenya Kwanza coaltion.

Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo said he still supports the Raila Odinga's bid because, the former Prime Minister has done much for the region and the nation.

"We are sure Raila will clinch the top seat so we must rally our people and him," Ottichilo said.

"If not for the Raila the devolution that we are enjoying now couldn't have happened," he added.

He said with time devolution will be strengthened and it will spur much development and economic growth.
