Man’s body found hanging in toilet in Lugari

Neighbours who discovered the body said he was staying alone.

A man’s body was found Monday morning hanging in a toilet within a rented apartment at Mwamba market in Lugari, Kakamega county.

Nelson Mumela Kamalishi, 34, was an employee at Forestall, Salvation Army Church preachers’ college in Mwamba.

Neighbours who discovered the body said he was staying alone.

Mwamba chief Edwin Nashirobe said Mumela is suspected to have committed suicide.

He however said police investigations would reveal whether Mumela  hanged himself or was killed.

“Because the deceased was staying alone in a rented apartment, it is not clear whether he terminated his life or someone did it,” chief Nashirobe said.

He urged neighbours, friends and residents to volunteer more information which could assist police unearth what led to the death of Mumela.

Nashirobe said he would talk to the management of Forestall, Salvation Army preachers to assist police in finding out what led to the death.

The body was taken to Kimbilio mortuary in Uasin Gishu county.
